It appealed to me because it captured a sense of alienation and rage that I could relate to. Holden is an incarnation of what so many young teenage boys and girls have gone through.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06819419875921521561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7483222814384923552.post-76601133256946813052010-08-23T22:04:05.691-05:002010-08-23T22:04:05.691-05:00You can skip "Catcher in the Rye." I then reread it in college because I thought, "Damn...If so many people love and worship and respect this book, I must have missed something the first time around." I again despised, loathed, hated, and suffered through every minute of that horrible novel. It is one of those on the bookshelves of well-read, intelligent people that often makes the "how have I not read this!?" list; in my opinion, you are better off.Kaylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14867057773303290374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7483222814384923552.post-7078376912641669352010-08-22T20:46:22.667-05:002010-08-22T20:46:22.667-05:00Michelle had Mockingjay here yesterday.Michelle had Mockingjay here yesterday.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06819419875921521561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7483222814384923552.post-49342326406040230302010-08-22T20:43:16.569-05:002010-08-22T20:43:16.569-05:00Oh I am SO excited for Mockingjay! I didn't read "huck finn" until my senior year of college. I have a book called "1001 books you must read before you die" and I've taken to checking things off in there, but it's a looooong list. Looking forward to reading more of your literary journey.<br />p.s.
